August is Tradies National Health Month – a time to shine a light on the challenges our industry faces, both on-site and beyond. At Tradie Pass, we’re proud to announce a new partnership with TIACS – Home of Blue Collar Counselling, to make mental health support easier to access for Aussie tradies everywhere.
Why This Partnership Matters
We know first-hand that staying on top of compliance is tough enough. Add the pressures of work, family, and life outside the jobsite, and it’s no surprise many in the trade industry struggle with mental health.
That’s why we’ve teamed up with TIACS – a free, confidential counselling service built specifically for tradies, truckies, farmers and blue collar workers. With this new partnership, Tradie Pass app users can connect directly with a TIACS counsellor via call or text — one tap away, no referral, no cost.
“After years of working on-site myself, I know you can’t expect crews to stay on top of compliance if they’re struggling to keep on top of their own mental health,” said Triona Haverty, Founder of Tradie Pass. “We wanted to raise awareness the best way we knew how – by making help available right there in the app. TIACS really embody what this industry needs right now.”
What TIACS Offers
TIACS counsellors are qualified professionals who understand the unique pressures of blue collar work. They’re available Monday to Friday, 8am–10pm AEST, and can be reached by text or call on 0488 846 988.
As TIACS CEO Sue Jankovic explains:
“Mental health challenges in the trade industry are significant. More and more tradies are reaching out, and they’re telling us TIACS helped shift things – from bottling it up to tackling the problems head-on, or simply sharing the load. Together with partners like Tradie Pass, we’re committed to delivering industry-driven solutions to industry-specific problems.”
The Bigger Picture
The numbers speak volumes – the construction industry loses an estimated $11 billion annually due to mental health challenges (ConsultANZ). Beyond the financial cost, the personal toll is even greater. That’s why initiatives like Tradies National Health Month are so important — they encourage all of us to start conversations, check in on our mates, and reach out when we need support.
More Than Just Compliance
Tradie Pass was built to help tradies and trade businesses ditch the paperwork and simplify compliance. But our mission has always been bigger than that. By partnering with TIACS, we’re making sure that support for mental health is as accessible as compliance tools, because the two go hand-in-hand.
Whether you’re a tradie managing tickets on-site or a business admin keeping crews compliant, you can now also use Tradie Pass to connect your team with real support, fast.
